'Humanity' is the first sign of musical life shown by Gerald Simpson aka A GUY CALLED GERALD after a long creative break taken to move home and studio. 'Humanity' taken from his album 'Essence' due out in August, features vocalist Louise Rhodes from British outfit Lamb. The British house and breakbeat pioneer A GUY CALLED GERALD recorded the track with Louise during his London period in 1998 - the following year swept him off to Brooklyn / NYC, where he has been living and working ever since, and where he also completed the forthcoming album.

'Humanity' is an excellent catchy Drum 'n' Bass hybrid already being played by DJs such as Gilles Peterson or DJ Krust and ranks among A GUY CALLED GERALD's top achievements to date. The outstanding remixes on the first single are by FUNKSTÖRUNG (a killer track!!), IAN SIMMONDS and BORNGRÄBER & STRÜVER. The second version has been put totally in the hands of ASHLEY BEEDLE, which is bound to become a big club hit with a slammin 4 to the floor mix. On the flipside Mr. Beedle presents us with one of his afro-house fusion favourites.
