They have enlisted the mighty �A Love From Outer Space� events with none-other than Lord Saber himself Andrew Weatherall who will be playing one of his famous and not to be missed 4 hour marathon mixes! He performs along side his partner in crime The Hardway Brother him self Mr Sean Johnson.

Hot on the heels of their sell out show at Koko, Plaid will be playing live, showcasing tracks from their hotly anticipated forthcoming album 'Scintilli' as well as from their back catalog.

Another longtime WANG collaborator A Guy Called Gerald will be playing a special NYE classics set.

Lord and Lady WANG Electro Elvis and Lula will of course be gracing the turntables along side some very special guests which they are set to announce real soon, but we can assure you it it�s going to be VERY exciting indeed!

The WANG video wall will be in full effect once again for this event � 1.5 tonnes of old school screens showing some of the most upfront and cutting edge visuals around!

December 2010 sees Animal Farm mark their 6th Birthday in style with the legendary Mancunian, A Guy Called Gerald, joining them for a 2 hour live set.

From "Voodoo Ray", the track that practically defines acid house, to modern day live gigs that will become the template for DJing of the future, this Berlin-based, Manchester-born pioneer, with 9 artist albums in a 25 year career, is an international name that has defied genres and continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of electronic music, both in the studio and in the club.

2010 and Gerald Simpson is still the revolutionary, making the concept of the DJ extinct in terms of how we once knew it. Not only is A Guy Called Gerald unique in that he brings his entire production suite into the club for every performance, but it is a genuine LIVE act; a constant interaction with the crowd, a fluid jam session with an instinctive keyboard riff just as likely as a flurry of bass, always pushing the sound system's capabilities to the limit and then some.

There are no inferior-quality, compressed CDs or mp3s here, no pre-programmed laptop; this is the full breadth of the spectrum, this is untarnished, analogue sound for our digitally subdued world. Those lucky enough to have been part of the show - whether they be at Fabric in London, Panorama Bar in Berlin, Robert Johnson in Frankfurt or the Detroit Electronic Movement Festival (DEMF) "will testify to having been moved by it, "physically and emotionally moved", that's exactly the point!!

His latest album "Tronic Jazz: The Berlin Sessions", the follow up to 2006 "Proto Acid The Berlin Sessions" was released in May this year. Otvoritev nove sezone prinaša v našo najljubšo klet "live" nastop enega inovativnejših elektronskih producentov in pionirja angleškega techna, acid housea ter jungla - A Guy Called Gerald!

Po uspehu popularnega singla "Voodoo Ray", ki je doživel premiero v legendarni Haciendi davnega leta 1988 in je predstavljal enega prvih acid house komadov, narejenih v Veliki Britaniji ter sodelovanju v kultnem actu 808 State (za katerega je prispeval brezčasni "Pacific State") v devetdesetih je Gerald Simpson izdal serijo singlov (kasneje zbranih na albumu "28 Gun Bad Boy", ki so definirali zvok, ki ga danes poznamo kot jungle oz. drum'n'bass. Ko se je v naslednji petih letih ta glasba razÅ¡irila in popularizirala tudi izven območja Velike Britanije, je izdal dobro sprejeti "Black Secret Technology", ki velja za enega prvih solo drum'n'bass albumov sploh. Kmalu so njegov talent opazili mnogi uveljavljeni umetniki, kot so Tricky, Goldie, Roy Ayers, Herbie Hancock in celo David Bowie, s katerimi je sodeloval pri kolaboracijah in remiksih.

Po selitvi v New York in njegovem prvem "song-based" albumu "Essence" (2000, iK7) in ambientalnem "To All Things What They Need" na isti založbi se je z albumom "Proto Acid / The Berlin Sessions" leta 2006 vrnil k svojim plesnim koreninam, v Berlinu pa je leta posnel tudi odlicni zadnji album "Tronic Jazz", ki predstavlja logicno nadaljevanje Geraldove vizionarske glasbene poti.

Die Dubstep-Zone wird diesmal mit einem live Set des Scape-Label Gründers POLE gerockt – inspirierende Experimente zwischen 4/4 und Dubstep werden euch zum Tanzen bringen. Hochkarätigen Support gibt es – neben den boomenden Sets der DUBMARINE – auch vom Berliner DJ und Produzenten ROBOTIC (Paradise Lost/Freakcamp), der den Abend mit breakigen und deepen Dubstep Sounds abrunden wird.

The Warehouse and Roller Disco

A Disco to Disco experience, linking the past with the present. Bringing Britain’s distinctive dance culture and DJ history to the fore by paying respect to our rich club culture and the DJs that have shaped it. Expect wall to wall dance music covering everything from 70s Funk and Disco, through early 80s Electro, Boogie, Rare Groove and onto, of course early Rave, Acid House and Balearic.

Vintage at Goodwood

Taking its lead from the Festival of Britain, there is no single focus in terms of the creative arts. The event will explore musical, fashion, film, art, design and cultural lineages and offer a glimpse of where we go from here. The Vintage site will host a fully functioning pop up High Street brimming with designer brands, bars and cafe, hands on creative workshops, a cinema, 100s of cool cars and the largest vintage clothes market ever assembled, as well as over 80 live performances alongside 85 pioneering DJs across 2 outdoor stages, 5 on-site nightclubs and roller disco..

From Dublin, Donnacha Costello released a new album "Before We Say Goodbye" on Poker Flat last March: the album is Donnacha's fourth full length project (including his 2003 LP Isol on Raster_Noton) and takes you on an emotional ride through deep house, ambient and techno. Lars Brämer aka Larsson spins his energetic musical journeys, a mixture between minimal house and techno, perfect to rock the floors with quality electronic dance music. Larsson released since 2006 on labels like Bpitch, Traum, Trapez, Get Physical, Hi Freaks, Rotary Cocktail and M-nus. Among too many projects to mention here, he joined Fumakilla and Fumalab where he released Take A Ride and Der Kleine Kleine Elefant“ which was released in Febuary 2010. The man behind Keinemusik is Rampa, releasing his first track on the label in 2009 ("Wife and Man"), and who you can find behind decks in Berlin or New York spinning his own definition of house and techno, bridging the gap between deepness and elation. A veteran of Berlin electronica since the 90s, SiD works for Freizeitglauben Records and arranges events like Frischzellenkur, 3+1, Fashing Light and Freizeitglauben label parties in series. Part of his sets are special mixing techniques and a unique choice of records that almost verges to absolute insanity, sounding like deep loopy house combined with a breeze of techno and minimal techno. Complimenting this eclectic Globus line-up is Michael Nadjé. Downstairs in Tresor the night features an artist who barely needs an introduction. The legend himself A Guy Called Gerald, will deliver a live set for the lucky ones who make it to the Tresor Floor: as his homepage indicates, no digital - "a fluid freestyle mix down of my own music and my own individual takes on classics referencing the past - direct at 96kz - the exact quality and set up I use to write and record in my studio". From the UK techno roots of the late 80s until today, A Guy Called Gerald remains one of electronic dance music's most brilliant artists so don't miss this chance to experience the legend live! Sharing the bill is Berlin cool mixer Ricardo Esposito, whose tasty samples can be heard on his Myspace page.

And for all you very very late night crawlers, the party goes on in Globus starting at 6am: the official after party begins following the Tempelhof Berlin Summer Rave, with dance music provided by optimal thrust DJs with power as their penchant: Chopstick, Michael Placke and the divine Stereo Jack - hop to it! CHRONICLES aims to create such an experience for you once more with a carefully selected line-up that we feel will encompass the task that we are about to engage.

The Setting

The arches underneath London Bridge have a long and illustrious history, and have been used as dance halls since the war. From the early days of Acid House to the present day, the venues under London Bridge have been a bastion of the underground scene.

Cable-London has emerged as the culmination of all that has gone before,taking things to a whole new level.

The venue has been designed to give the best possible experience within the space. The whole venue has a feeling of intimacy, unusual for arches with 35 feet high ceilings. The rawness and beauty of the space has in no way been compromised by the design, as so often seen with railway arch development. It is truly a celebration of our industrial heritage.

The sound system is truly awesome. The latest offering from Nova, sees their new align technology's first installation worldwide. It has to be heard.

В отличие от двух предыдущих вечеринок VATA, грядущий вечер будет посвящен более урбанистичному звучанию, ведь ключевой фигурой мероприятия станет пионер электронной музыки A Guy Called Gerald.

Джералд Симпсон, уроженец Манчестера стоял у истоков английского рейв-движения. Его имя напрямую связано с эпохой возникновения эйсид-хауса в Европе. Джеральд - это звено, связующее чикагский хаус и детройт техно с английской танцевальной сценой конца 80-х. Он стал первым английским эйсид хаус продюсером. Вместе с Грэхемом Мэсси и Мартином Прайсом основал группу 808 State и записал с ними культовый альбом Newbuild, который оказал большое влияние на хаус музыку следующего поколения.

Позднее он создал сольный проект A Guy Called Gerald, выпустил свой самый известный сингл "Voodoo Ray", ставший гимном рейв-движения. В 1989 г. "Voodoo Ray" ворвался в британские чарты, что для инструментального трека является огромным достижением.

После двух эйсид-хаус альбомов (Hot Lemonade и Automanikk), Симпсон активно экспериментировал с брейкбитом. Выпустил массу релизов, начиная от атмосферного драмнбейса заканчивая трип-хопом и даунтемпо. Он сотрудничал с такими музыкантами как Frankie Knuckles, Goldie, Finley Quaye, Derrick May Herbie Hancock; делал ремиксы для David Bowie, Lamb, Stone Roses, Black Uhuru, Can, Tricky, Roman Fluegel and The Orb, участвовал в турне вместе с New Order, Tricky и Bebel Gilberto.

С новым приходом эйсид-хауса в европейские клубы, Симпсон возвратился на танцполы. В 2005-м выпустил техно-релиз "Flo-Ride", а затем запустил новый проект Proto Acid. Музыкант вернулся к классическому эйсид звучанию, приправив его олд-скульным детройт-техно и тек-хаусом нулевых. 10 мая 2010 г. Джералд выпускает 13-й по счету альбом Tronic Jazz The Berlin Sessions на лейбле Laboratory Instinct, продолжая тему предыдущего альбома Proto Acid / The Berlin Sessions 2006 года. Ergänzen wird A Guy Called Gerald, DIE Techno und Drum&Bass Legende, mit seinem Live Set das Line up. Schon seit 1988 ist er ein Webgegleiter der elektronischen Musik und liefert schon seit über 20 Jahren maßgebliche Impulse für jegliche Musik elektronischer Art. Weitere Live-Acts sind die über die Berlin Grenzen bekannten Skinnerbox, the dose und Abonné. Bekannte DJ´s unterstützen mit Ihren pointierten aber trotzdem druckvollen Sets dieses außergewöhnliche Line-Up. London music collective Feeding Time and cult electronic label Werk Discs join forces for a special one-off clusterfuck of some of today’s most exciting contemporary music and influential legends.

A Guy Called Gerald needs no introduction – a bonafide acid house and techno legend, Gerald is over from Berlin for an exclusive appearance on Plan B’s Funktion One sound system to guarantee the night goes off in style.

Hosts of some of the best underground parties of the last decade, Werk Discs are south London’s most impenetrable rave cult, and will be showcasing three of the label’s key talents. Lone and Lukid bring synthily bittersweet beats, rainforest neu haus and intricately crafted instrumental hip hop, while label boss Actress is currently producing some seriously next-level electronic meaty goodness, and will be previewing material from his upcoming second album ‘Splazsh’, as well as hopefully modeling an interesting new hairstyle.

Gyratory System (Angular Records) will meanwhile bring their astounding three-piece live electronica/brass ensemble to the Brixton stage. Simply unlike anything else you’ve ever heard, producer Andrew Blick conjures up a mindbending marching band straight from one of Walt Disney’s most fevered technicolour nightmares, which will have the crowd dancing and gibbering in confused delight. Also taking to the stage is south-east London’s massively exciting Dave ID, whose clattering transmissions of fizzing electronics, distorted vocals and meaty industrial / hip hop backbone announces the arrival of a powerfully original new talent. Guest DJ Pariah is a young man who has grabbed attention with remixes for the likes of The XX, twisting the darker side of UK garage into seductively futuristic sounds.

It’s not possible to reinvent the wheel and it‘s also not possible to recreate a purely unique “Electronic event“, by current available means at least. But there are certain elements (music, location, crowd and visuals) and to fuse these parts in a slick or unique way, is the trick. „Twisted Elements“ achieves this balancing act: a festival of worthy international, premium line up, presented in a club atmosphere from Friday to Sunday for the least possible door charge. As we roll towards the huge Firefly 10th Birthday show in June, We’re very very proud to be able to bring someone to Nottingham who has pretty much pioneered the Manchester derived acid tinged sounds we all know and love. Gerald Simpson as his family know him, or A Guy Called Gerald to the rest of us, started making music in the 1980’s and has been a dance music institution ever since. From his Manchester roots he started the infamous band 808 State, making anthem after anthem which still live on to this day. He has worked with pretty much every artist from Goldie and Krust, to Findlay Quaye and has been credited with the release of the first ever full length Jungle based Drum and Bass album ever in 1995.

His regular trips to Fabric playing Techno and doing Live Drum and Bass shows, still shows his ability and desire to rock a crowd still lives….. In his own words….

When u hear the name A Guy Called Gerald most people in this day and age would probably say "Who the hell's that?", those of you from back in the day are probably saying "I wonder what he is up to now" or probably have some sort of story around Voodoo Ray or Pacific State or Blow Your House Down or 28 Gun Bad Boy. Then there's another group of people who have followed me over the years and know the the full journey I've taken.

Since I started in music I've seen the system change - the old structure crumble away as myself and many of the others I inspired emerged from the bedroom studio with our own self generating independence. I was one of the first to break the mould of the stranglehold that labels and studios and PR machines had on artists. Let me just say that information is techno. The record company dam was broken and there was a tidal wave. It was further fuelled by cheaper and cheaper studio machinery and finally the nail in the coffin was the internet. You have no idea how happy this makes me feel.

Getting back to now I wasn't one then or now for riding the tidal wave so I want to give you an idea of what your experience will be hearing A Guy Called Gerald Live. I have a unique insider's view of dance music from the early 80's to now. I started out as a 14 year old dancer sneaking into clubs in Manchester when electro funk was the underground sound. No matter through what genre or in what decade you discovered this music I can guarantee you will leave with a clearer picture of the entire spectrum.

My aim is to give you all a deeper understanding with as much enjoyment as is physically and mentally possible using the three elements more frequently missing from this music - the basis of all dance music : RHYTHM, MELODY and BASS.

Our ethos at Breakfast at EGG is to have the feel of of an intimate house party, where we treat the party, like it’s in our living room. We're a polysexual party and that’s how we like it here at EGG. Musically we have something for everybody in our multiple dance arenas.

This is reflected in the mix of people that come down straight from a variety of clubs all over London, every Sunday. We keep the Loft quite light-hearted with a true party atmosphere. The Middle floor sees glamorous girls and beautiful boys dancing the morning away to the best pumping underground house music played by big name DJ's every week. The basement is for the real discerning clubber, minimal house brought you by well known DJ's and is also the official after-party for some of the biggest Saturday night's all over town.

Last and definitely not least - the garden. Some people come to Breakfast just for the garden alone. Imagine the terrace at Space in Ibiza. Every week it’s packed with fabulously fun people. You can dance, laugh, chat, drink cocktails, bask in the sun or in winter keep warm in our themed tent and SMOKE if you want to!! (the garden is the largest open space in London’s clubland so its completely legal!)

Breakfast at EGG has fast become one of the biggest institutions in Sunday clubbing. Some clubbers love us so much that they stay in on a Saturday night and come down to us specially in the morning!

Der 20. Geburtstag des Tacheles, die Eröffnung der Tacheles Werkschau und die gewaltige Unterstützungswelle für das Kunsthaus - das sind gleich drei Anlässe, zu denen wir die Freunde des Kunsthauses herzlich einladen möchten.

20 Jahre Tacheles & die Eröffnung der Tacheles Werkschau am Samstag, den 13. Februar 2010, ab 19.00 Uhr im Goldenen Saal (1.OG).

Zur Werkschau präsentieren 46 Künstler aus 18 Ländern vielfältige Arbeiten, die 2009 im Kunsthaus Tacheles produziert wurden. Eine Info-Lounge fasst die aktuellen Entwicklungen rund um das Kunsthaus Tacheles zusammen und bietet interessierten Besuchern die Möglichkeit, sich über die aktuelle Situation zu informieren.

Außerdem erwartet die Gäste ein umfangreiches Performance & Musikprogramm u.a. mit der Band Ladies First

I can just imagine the conversations in the year 2060, some kid saying “oh that computer music from back in the day – that was the real deal – this new “mind” music just doesn’t seem as real as the stuff written with old school software synths.”

MARSHALL JEFFERSON
This Chicagoan native might be best known for coaxing the squelch out of Roland’s TB 303 that snowballed into the genre known as acid house. But he also has the unique gift of breaking down tracks to their essential parts, and using them to pull out an artists voice and personality. Together with Larry Sherman, the man behind the seminal Trax Records label, he produced anthems for the likes of CeCe Rogers, Phuture, and Ten City, and he continues to spread magical energy that sets the whole world dancing. Jefferson ain't plain!

A GUY CALLED GERALD
Without Gerald Simpson, the shape of electronic music would not be where it is today. Play Voodoo Ray in a rave and the response will send people wild like it did back in the day. His album Black Secret Technology remains a coveted techno milestone. And with his label Juice Box Records he helped laying the foundations for what we know and love as drum ‘n’ bass. Let Gerald do his voodoo on you.
