We appreciate these extra steps, maybe more effort but we are doing this with the best intentions.

Please note, we will keep it under constant review.

INSTRUCTIONS

2. Take the test up to 24 hours before the event and wait at least 30 minutes for the result. We recommend after you wake up, before eating or drinking.

If you have any questions regarding our policy - please email safetypolicy@supportthecause.co.uk

6. If someone tests positive and they can not make the event due to testing positive, if a refund is requested, this will be forwarded on to the promoter to arrange and the responsibility will lie with the promoter.

In the summer of 1989, when TRIP CITY was first released with a soundtrack by A GUY CALLED GERALD, there had been no other British novel like it. This was the down and dirty side of London nightclubs, dance music and the kind of hallucinogenic drug sub-culture that hadn’t really been explored since Tom Wolfe’s The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.

For 2021 Trip City has been re-published by VELOCITY PRESS in an all-new incendiary incarnation – including new introduction by author TREVOR MILLER and foreword by CARL LOBEN (DJ Magazine) and a reissue of the soundtrack by A Guy Called Gerald featuring all five tracks on vinyl for the first time.

To celebrate this unique multi-media collaboration VELOCITY PRESS, A GUY CALLED GERALD and TREVOR MILLER will be holding a UK Launch Event at THE HOUSE OF ST. BARNABAS in Soho. The launch will include a ticketed Author/Performer Q&A moderated by MIRANDA SAWYER followed by AGCG exclusive ‘live' DJ set, plus DJs Carl Loben (DJ Magazine) and Sean McLusky (1-2-3-4 Records) playing classic music from the era.

A Guy Called Gerald is 25+ years of dance music incarnate. From “Voodoo Ray” in 1988 to “Tronic Jazz” released on Germany’s respected Laboratory Instinct label in 2010, this man is a self-written bible of dance music.

He was the first UK acid house producer and achieved the rare feat of having not one but two instrumental dance tracks in the UK charts at the same time. He formed 808 State with a drum machine, a 303, 2 Roland SH101s and two other humans.

Over the course of his career, Gerald has collaborated with everyone from Frankie Knuckles and Goldie through to Derrick May and Herbie Hancock. His remix credits are equally impressive with reworks in his back catalogue for David Bowie, Lamb, Stone Roses, Can, Tricky and Roman Flügel as well as having toured with the likes of New Order and Bebel Gilberto.

The early part of this event will be outdoors and the latter part will be indoors.

Entry £5 after 8pm, there are no advance bookings for this event.

It's finally here, our big comeback dance, against all odds... pandemics, reschedules, venue changes, lineup changes, working out thunderstorms contingency plans, and it looks like we've cracked it and the party is finally going to happen.

We takeover a brand new space for parties in North East London, Cannon Factory right by Tottenham Hale tube.

Although intended to be entirely open air originally we have opted to keep the bulk of the party in one of the warehouses off of the main yard. Loads of natural light, palm trees, greenery and a fat martin audio soundsystem, and if the rain holds off and we get some sun, the full height service doors open out into a yard where we will have more sound piped, chill out areas, food traders and bars, creating a seamless half indoor, half outdoor space... So we're good to go whatever 🙂

The lineup that features A Guy Called Gerald playing jungle, Angel D'lite, D. Tiffany, Flight, InnerZone, iona, Local Group, 1-800 GIRLS, Baby Rollén, Brian Summers, The Menendez Brothers and myself, and is a made up with a combination of friends, legends and the Feelings Worldwide family making it extra special for our first dance back (extra love to DJ Flight for jumping in last minute to fill a gap due to cancellation).

It's been a long time coming, what will mark a year and half out of the dance, we're back with a bang as we takeover a very special new space in London for a marathon all day dance party.

Starting early and running 12 hours, from 11 - 11, we have got an extra special lineup in tow for our raviest party to date.

Judging by pre-sale we expect this party will sell out quite far in advance so we advise buying now ahead of the venue reveal.

It'll be worth it, trust us.

TRIP CITY: A Guy Called Gerald & Trevor Miller in conversation - hosted by Dr Simon Morrison

Date and time

Thu, 17 June 2021

21:00 – 22:30 BST

For the first time in almost three decades screenwriter/author TREVOR MILLER and Manchester music legend A GUY CALLED GERALD re-unite to discuss their landmark collaboration, TRIP CITY - one of the first literary/audio works to feature the clubs and soundtrack of what became known as Acid House, reported in literature.

Moderated by nightclub expert, academic and noted author of DANCEFLOOR DRIVEN LITERATURE, Dr Simon A. Morrison - this one-off on-line event will take us through the evolution of late 80s electronica, the nightclub backdrop that spawned TRIP CITY and the unique influence this project had on the many other books and movies that came after it.

Louder Than Words Festival is proud to present this explosive live discussion that takes place between Manchester, London and Hollywood to celebrate the VELOCITY PRESS re-issue of TRIP CITY and the AGCG soundtrack - for the first time in paperback AND on vinyl - with an all new essay written by Trevor Miller and a landmark Forward from Carl Loben - Editor-In-Chief of DJ Magazine.

Expect some unique revelations and the sweat or steam that might take you back to The Second Summer of Love all over again! Not to be missed!

* We have 'event only', discounted 'event & paperback' bundles and discounted 'event & paperback & vinyl' combo tickets available. In partnership with the publisher Velocity Press, we are theONLY OTHER OUTLET able to release bundles before August!

Noise Test Croatia 2021.

June 3-6, Jezera, island Murter. ***JUST ANNOUNCED!*** Noise Test will do another festival on the following weekend 10-14th June on the same site, bringing 2 full weekends of bass!

Croatia has relaxed its visas – all they need from EU and non EU citizens is a rapid antigen test and proof of accommodation to come as a tourist! Don’t forget to fill out the Enter Croatia form: https://entercroatia.mup.hr/

We bring 2 festivals side by side celebrating the best of underground Drum&Bass, Jungle, Dubstep, Bass & Experimental music.

Noise Test concept of artists playing all their own unreleased music in full effect!

Noise London & Noise Test [est 2006]

Noise Test gives a platform to some of the most respected producers in the game to come share their WIPs [work in progress] with us.

The rules are simple – the tracks have to be yours and unreleased. This has proven to be a great way to give artists deadlines, to dig up those lost and forgotten tracks, and each time proves to be some of the most forward-thinking, inspiring music that is well on par with the biggest tracks out there, if not better!

These incredible sounds should not be allowed to lay stagnant on a computer hard drive. This is about the real artists unleashing their works, reaching the audience in a different way – and what better place than the beautiful Croatian coastline?

These events are a whole different listening experience and if you’re into Drum & Bass, Jungle, Experimental, Halftime, Dubstep, 130, deep, dark, dirty beats, or like us, have a lifelong passion for audio production, then you’re in for a treat! These artists are serious masters of their craft!

We record all our events:

soundcloud.com/noise-london

Tickets £60 4x days. Includes camping. Deals available for those coming for both weekends!

*Nearest airports are Split & Zadar. Buses from both cities are available to Tisno or Sibenik which is close to Jezera, the town closest to the festival site. See map below for festival location which is a 30min walk from Jezera.

*Only LOCAL tickets will be sold at €20 per night, and these must be purchased in advance. All locals must show proof of negative antigen test.

*Anyone with a Noise Test ‘tape’ card has guaranteed life long, free entry to all our events, which includes this festival.

*We have 100% licence to go ahead with the event. Fully Covid compliant laws and practices of the time will be in action. The event will be capped at 1,000 guests until we receive the go ahead to allow more ticket sales.

*Tickets are 100% refundable, if you cannot make it due to covid/travel reasons, you can still grab a refund or opt for a +1 at the next festival of your choice. (More events announced for this Summer soon!) Message any of our social channels for more info.

*All announcements and updates will be visible here and our social channels.

Well look at that: it’s been just over a month since the shackles were partially loosened and we could gather in groups outside, and already the next rule of relaxation is upon us. So, to celebrate the end of the outdoor rule of 6, REVIVEHER are back in The Lot at HWK and ready to soak up the rays in style. The VOODOO RAYs to be precise…

Yep, you guessed it - on Saturday 22nd May, REVIVEHER presents A Guy Called Gerald!

It’s an honour and a privilege to have such a legendary figure bring his own Music Sweet Music to our little outdoor Hackney Wick party paradise.

Words like “legend” and “innovator” get bandied around a lot these days. But with A Guy Called Gerald, they do little justice to the impact he’s had on electronic music. With 1988’s Voodoo Ray and his work as a founding member of 808 State, he kick started Europe’s acid house movement and gave birth to British dance music as we know it, and has continued to push boundaries and sculpt genres ever since.

This is A Guy who has played on the biggest stages in the world. From every major festival, to every iconic club, to the Sydney Opera House…and next Saturday we’ll all be able to accompany him on a sonic journey from the intimacy of The Lot in little old Hackney Wick. And for that, we should all be very, very excited.

Support comes from our good mate and incredibly talented producer/killer DJ Izaak from Earth, who is one half of musical act Earthboogie. When not on the deck, Izaak spends his time in the studio or developing and building custom high fidelity audio system for venues around the UK, including the very one at The Lot!

This is going to be our best (and hopefully last) sit down disco yet.

Can’t wait to see you guys there!
