Date and time Thu, 2 September 2021 Tickets: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/trip-city-uk-launch-event-tickets-159482657923 Location The House of St Barnabas In the summer of 1989, when TRIP CITY was first released with a soundtrack by A GUY CALLED GERALD, there had been no other British novel like it. This was the down and dirty side of London nightclubs, dance music and the kind of hallucinogenic drug sub-culture that hadn’t really been explored since Tom Wolfe’s The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. For 2021 Trip City has been re-published by VELOCITY PRESS in an all-new incendiary incarnation – including new introduction by author TREVOR MILLER and foreword by CARL LOBEN (DJ Magazine) and a reissue of the soundtrack by A Guy Called Gerald featuring all five tracks on vinyl for the first time. To celebrate this unique multi-media collaboration VELOCITY PRESS, A GUY CALLED GERALD and TREVOR MILLER will be holding a UK Launch Event at THE HOUSE OF ST. BARNABAS in Soho. The launch will include a ticketed Author/Performer Q&A moderated by MIRANDA SAWYER followed by AGCG exclusive ‘live' DJ set, plus DJs Carl Loben (DJ Magazine) and Sean McLusky (1-2-3-4 Records) playing classic music from the era. Doors - 6.30PM Q+A (Moderated by Miranda Sawyer) - 7PM AGCG and DJ's from - 8PM The life-changing work of The House of St Barnabas wouldn’t be possible without the generous donations of those who enjoy our club. We ask for a suggested minimum donation of £5 from attendees at our events to help support our Employment Preparation Programme; working together we can break the cycle of homelessness. ________________________________________________ The House of St Barnabas is a charity whose vision is to create a future where lasting work is a reality for people affected by homelessness and social exclusion. 7 August: Feelings Worldwide Returns, Canon Factory, London, England |
DetailsFeelings Worldwide - 12 All Day Dance Party Venue ̸ plus feelings worldwide family: It's finally here, our big comeback dance, against all odds... pandemics, reschedules, venue changes, lineup changes, working out thunderstorms contingency plans, and it looks like we've cracked it and the party is finally going to happen. We takeover a brand new space for parties in North East London, Cannon Factory right by Tottenham Hale tube. Although intended to be entirely open air originally we have opted to keep the bulk of the party in one of the warehouses off of the main yard. Loads of natural light, palm trees, greenery and a fat martin audio soundsystem, and if the rain holds off and we get some sun, the full height service doors open out into a yard where we will have more sound piped, chill out areas, food traders and bars, creating a seamless half indoor, half outdoor space... So we're good to go whatever 🙂 The lineup that features A Guy Called Gerald playing jungle, Angel D'lite, D. Tiffany, Flight, InnerZone, iona, Local Group, 1-800 GIRLS, Baby Rollén, Brian Summers, The Menendez Brothers and myself, and is a made up with a combination of friends, legends and the Feelings Worldwide family making it extra special for our first dance back (extra love to DJ Flight for jumping in last minute to fill a gap due to cancellation). All the info you need to know ahead of the day is here: http://ymlp.com/zPW3Jd |

22 May: The Lot / Reviveher, Hwk, Hackney, London, England |
DetailsHwk Well look at that: it’s been just over a month since the shackles were partially loosened and we could gather in groups outside, and already the next rule of relaxation is upon us. So, to celebrate the end of the outdoor rule of 6, REVIVEHER are back in The Lot at HWK and ready to soak up the rays in style. The VOODOO RAYs to be precise… Yep, you guessed it - on Saturday 22nd May, REVIVEHER presents A Guy Called Gerald! It’s an honour and a privilege to have such a legendary figure bring his own Music Sweet Music to our little outdoor Hackney Wick party paradise. Words like “legend” and “innovator” get bandied around a lot these days. But with A Guy Called Gerald, they do little justice to the impact he’s had on electronic music. With 1988’s Voodoo Ray and his work as a founding member of 808 State, he kick started Europe’s acid house movement and gave birth to British dance music as we know it, and has continued to push boundaries and sculpt genres ever since. This is A Guy who has played on the biggest stages in the world. From every major festival, to every iconic club, to the Sydney Opera House…and next Saturday we’ll all be able to accompany him on a sonic journey from the intimacy of The Lot in little old Hackney Wick. And for that, we should all be very, very excited. Support comes from our good mate and incredibly talented producer/killer DJ Izaak from Earth, who is one half of musical act Earthboogie. When not on the deck, Izaak spends his time in the studio or developing and building custom high fidelity audio system for venues around the UK, including the very one at The Lot! This is going to be our best (and hopefully last) sit down disco yet. Can’t wait to see you guys there! RH xx |
