A Guy Called Gerald
Radar Systems
Juice Box

High-end frequency drum'n'bass on rinse-out setting from Gerald, who tweaks proceedings beyond the call of duty, resulting in a searing, individualistic roller guaranteed to demolish discerning junglist floors.

A Guy Called Gerald
Radar Systems / The Fallen Prince Of Heaven
Juice Box Promo 12"

Although this 12" of hideous mechanical nightmares is more like Photek's "Hidden Camera" than the current barrage of clinical, metallic two-steps, I can't help but feel that Gerald is trying to keep up with trends rather than set them as he did with 28 Gun Bad Boy and Black Secret Technology. It's not bad, but it's clearly the sound of someone treading water. Will someone please remind Jungle producers that there are other sounds out there besides foghorns and melodramatic synth motifs that some soundtrack hack like Danny Elfman would be too embarrassed to use.
