From the heart of Manchester's Hacienda club to the nightspots and TV screens of the world, Swivel Productions have come a long way. Manchester clubbers will be familiar with the video production company's big-screen atmospherics and scratch films which have been showing constantly in the Hacienda for the last four years; others may have caught their promo vids for The Sundays' indie hit 'Can't Be Sure' or A Guy Called Gerald's club anthem 'Voodoo Ray'. The Manchester-based quartet's film projections, slides and videos have travelled from the UK, Paris to New York with the Hacienda crew and they're currently working on their first feature film, a 'surreal thriller' set in the Manchester underworld. "We want to do more pop videos," says Dani Jacobs of Swivel. "You can test out your ideas in them, plus people actually see them too. In the long term, we want to make films while still maintaining our club work." Contact Swivel Productions on 061 226 0903 or 061 226 8763 and find out how video can change your life. [Author: MC] |
