"A Guy Called Gerald's recent move to Berlin coincided with the city's music scene explosion in ingenuity. On his new album which he recorded in Berlin at home he steps further - into freestyle. If there's a dominant sound here, it's atmospheres. The opening track is a stunner which he leaves beatless, or "Tajeen" where he combines tabla percussion elements with electronic beats and acid sounds. Listen to "Strangest Changes" feat. Finley Quaye where he returns to his urban drum and bass roots. All tracks are soaked with deep sounds and textures, and spirituality shines through that reflect in Gerald's rich experiences as an artist, producer and sonic traveller as well as his extraordinary far sighted understanding of musical cohesions. Comments:

The promo CD also features a 16 minute video combining the 1990 Granada Madchester documentary (featuring contributions from Darren Partington from 808 State and Derrick May), and the 2000 Channel 4 'Profiles' documentary on Gerald (featuring contributions from LTJ Bukem, DJ Krust, 4 Hero, Louise Rhodes, as well as Gerald himself). This does not appear on the final album, but is downloadable from the official A Guy Called Gerald website.
