A Guy called Gerald: The Leadmill, Sheffield

A support slot to A Certain Ratio was an excellent surprise, but the huge crowd didn't seem to realise who or what Gerald and friends were doing. Only a few people at the front gave any reaction to this short set. Gerald looked quite uncomfortable behind his mixer and sampler, but he gave a smile when the few interested people shouted for more. The encore was an excellent version of Born in the North, which I suspect didn't go down too well with some of the southern students in the crowd. But if they don't like they can go home! A private gig despite there being about eight hundred people there.
