This compilation featured almost every Mancunian act that you can think of: 808 State, New Order, Simply Red, Lamb, M-People, Sub Sub, and of course Gerald himself, appearing under the guise of Ricky Rouge. Gerald provides vocals on this track.

This is the post Acid House album, from a city that was at the spear head of those exciting days comes this collection of productions. Eclectic in it's nature, and with a thread running through it of pure quality it is the first instalment in a northern musical adventure..... some feel that the 4/4 thing has run it's course, others that the fire is still burning with intensity, but whatever you think personally, times are changing. Eclecticism is the word now, from funky downtempo Hip Hop and Jazz based grooves right through to dub and techno and house music. We here like to think the barriers are coming down, minds are opening again after club land locking on one groove for so long. This album is a real breath of fresh air, a collection of tracks that are excellent, by artists from many different musical areas of club land, but all from the North of England geographically !!
