Subject: Steve Furber to speak at Acorn World 2009

From the Acorn World homepage <http://www.acornworld.co.uk>:

"We are delighted to announce that Professor Stephen Furber - a principal
designer of both the BBC Microcomputer and ARM microprocessor - will give a
talk about The Heritage of the BBC Micro at Acorn World 2009.

Topics covered will include construction of the prototype BBC machine that was
demoed to staff at the BBC, as well as the design and manufacture of the ARM
microchip.

Stephen will also give an insight into his current research interests, such as
the SpiNNaker project: a bold attempt to emulate the interactions of the human
brain, utilising an estimated one million ARM processors.

The talk will take place in the Emley Suite at 2:30pm on Sunday 13th September
and will last for one hour. There will be an additional 30 minute provision to
allow for questions."
