From what I recall there's not room for an adapter, if you mean a
little converter board, but if you bend the apropreate pins so that they
don't plug into the socket and then install wires from the pins to the
apropreate pins on the underside of the ZX80 board, that should do the
trick.

The other thing that is worth noting is that the ZX81 rom will work fine
in a ZX80, when I first had my 80, it didn't have a rom, so to verify
that it worked, I dropped an 81 rom in ther and it fired up first time,
though obviously as a ZX81.
