Important
Changes for Wheelchair Users attending the RSC
The RSC have
recently reviewed their policy about transferring people from their
wheelchairs into seats to see a production.
The RSC Health
and Safety Advisor has highlighted a need to change their current practice.
The RSC now
require wheelchair users to book a wheelchair space rather than be
transferred to a theatre seat.
The reason for
the change is to protect the health and safety of the patron and to
safeguard audiences welfare in the event of an evacuation.
This change
also reflects current legislation.
Could we therefore ask you if you are a wheelchair user, but have not booked a wheelchair space, to contact us and we will change your booking from a seat to a wheelchair space. There will be no cost to you for making any changes in your seating arrangements.
If you are able to walk into the auditorium, which we know applies to many wheelchair users then there is no need to contact us as there is no change required to your booking.
