Burma Rifles

Subadar and men of a machine gun section, 20th Burma Rifles - taken at Maymyo between 1922 and 1st April 1937.

Burma Frontier Force

No.4 Bicycle Infantry Column, forming part of the Burma Frontier Force mobile detachment known as F.F.4 - taken at Pyawbwe (probably) in August 1941.

Chin Rifles

Officers and men of the 1st, 2nd and The Chin Hills Battalion (3rd Chin Rifles) - taken during the initial period of the civil wars that followed independence, 1948-1950.  Photos published with the kind permission of Van Cung Lian.

Officers and men of the 39th Indian Field Ambulance - the unit went to Burma with the 17th Indian Infantry Division in January 1942.
