If you've got a machine with sideways RAM (or access to an EPROM burner 
etc), then would ADI do the trick?

It's fitted to my Master 512 that I got recently, I had a play with it, 
and it appears to have a very thorough disc scan in it. A normal format 
and a scan of this type might do the trick.
