Copyright Gary Parsons, f4 Aviation 2000 Flight Lieutenant John Clark is a qualified Flying Instructor and Instrument Rating Examiner at No 1 Flying Training School, RAF Linton-on-Ouse, Yorkshire. Born in Yeovil, Somerset, John was educated in Surrey and, as a member of the Air Training Corps, was awarded a flying scholarship before going on to join the RAF as a Direct Entry Pilot in 1984. He went to Linton-on-Ouse for his basic Flying Training on the Jet Provost and was awarded his wings at Valley, in 1986. John is on his fifth flying tour having flown Canberras with 100 Squadron at Wyton, Hawks at Brawdy, and more recently the Tornado F3 with 43(F) Squadron at Leuchars and as a Combat Instructor on 56(R) Squadron at Coningsby. Of the various types of aircraft John has flown with the RAF, the most hours have been in the Tornado F3 and he has been deployed to the Falkland Islands, Kuwait and Bosnia along with many other European and American locations. John is married to Jacqui and they have two future pilots to keep them busy, Robert and Elizabeth. His interests include game and clay pigeon shooting, keeping fit and Ducati motorbikes. John is in his first year as a display pilot and enjoys the challenge of low level acrobatics.
