Ever since I was little I've loved the sound, smell and spectacle of motor racing and rallying; I was the only kid in my school that answered "rally driver" to the standard "what do you want to do when you grow up?" question. Well, I never made it as a rally driver but I finally got to the point where I could afford to run the car I've wanted ever since it first appeared in the WRC: a Subaru Impreza. Yes, Ferraris and Lambourginis are more beautiful; TVRs and Caterhams offer a more raw driving experience; and BMWs and Mercs are more comfortable. But the Impreza is almost unique in its combination of devastating performance, incredible handling and family car practicality without requiring a small fortune to buy and run it. I currently own an MY05 Spec C and before that I ran an MY00 Turbo 'classic'.
