The Datchet Laser fleet is one of the strongest and most
active in the country. With over 80 boat owners, we regularly boast 15
– 20 participants for our regular club racing events – and it’s
still growing! We welcome Laser sailors of all abilities and ages –
from the highest standard to beginners, and from youths to Grand Masters
– all are welcome and encouraged to participate. On Sundays we have
two morning races with our own start at 10:25 [Warning Signal at 10:20],
and join the handicap fleet for a single race after lunch.
The Datchet Laser open event schedule offers the opportunity to
compete in some top quality racing and race training. For the remainder
of 2001 and throughout 2002, we have a number of events scheduled or
planned to ensure that Datchet is firmly on the UKLA map and attracting
Laser sailors to sail at Datchet from around the Thames Valley and
throughout the UK. Our events scheduled for the remainder of 2001 and
2002 feature a number of Open and Masters meetings and regular UKLA
training weekends. Keep an eye on the club calendar to see what’s
scheduled.
With 475 acres of open uninterrupted sailing water, and some of the
best winds around, Datchet offer the very best in inland Laser sailing.
