Herpetology - Captive Breeding
General
I hope you have enjoyed reading about both the species I keep and my conservation work. One thing I would stress is that all of my animals are kept in the best possible emulation of their natural habitat. This coupled with a good variety of food, plenty of vitamin supplements results in them being very healthy and almost all the species I have mentioned have bred - and do so repeatedly. Those few that haven't - I hope and plan will - because this is really the ultimate test of their well-being.
I would like to tell you much more about the animals I keep and the methods I employ - but time and space do not permit. But if you are interested by what I have been able to tell you please drop me a Mail at iowarth@crislis.co.uk. I will be only too pleased to hear from you and will reply as soon as possible.
I would warn you that my techniques often do not match the books - and I'm certainly not prepared to enter into tortuous correspondence about the rightness or wrongness of my techniques. Suffice it to say that they work. My animals live long and well - and breed repeatedly. And, in my experience, the lizards, frogs, toads and terrapins haven't read the books anyway!!!
Feel free to offer any suggestions for improving these pages. I shall listen to them all carefully - and I'm sure some will both be good AND I will agree with them.
