Joneve McCormick |
Biography: "I was born in the U.S., in Ohio, and grew up traveling all over - my father was an army engineer. I remember 'saying' my first line of poetry when I was about three, because my father, a poet, did a 'double take' when he heard it. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and received degrees from San Francisco State U. and Fordham U. (NYC) in English Literature, Creative Writing and TESL, respectively. I've published poetry, stories and articles, and generally searched for work where I could be of service using language skills. I also love to paint, draw, and play hand drums. My goal is to make contact with the marrow bones of reality. I meditate and read great poetry to empower myself and to grow. Some favourite poets are Homer, Rumi, Yeats and anonymous bards of the ancient world, such as those who penned books of revelation in all traditions."
