(When one was younger, affairs of the heart, little indiscretions, were fun. Getting caught however, when you really hadn't thought through the consequences, wasn't quite such fun.)
The playful breeze,
Called 'Catch me if you can!'
Then ran away,
Inland.
The sun kissed you,
The sun kissed me,
And we drank from the same cup,
That's called
Serenity.
Earth mother,
Pulled us in her fold,
And in the crushed grass,
We told
Each other secrets,
Secrets of our souls,
And the breeze laughed,
And the sea murmured
It's approval.
Yesterday's dreams,
Today became reality:
Tomorrow
Turns it's face,
Shuts out the guilty secret
Of this contrived adultery.
The dealer deals the cards,
And the Joker smiles,
…………Beguilingly.
